Experts from salesforce.com and Google Among Panelists for CRM manager and the Eastern Technology Council Event

MALVERN, PA – September 3, 2008 – CRM manager (www.crm-manager.net), a leading on-demand software consulting firm, today announced it has partnered with the Eastern Technology Council to host an event titled “New Rules for Software: From On-Premise to On-Demand” on September 24.  Being held from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Penn State Great Valley campus in Malvern, Pa., this free event features industry leaders discussing the business issues of the rapidly growing industry shift to the new model of software delivery – Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).

Panelists include:

“The need to reduce capital expenditures and increase efficiency is on the mind of most companies in today’s market,” said Andy Atkins, CEO and co-founder of CRM manager. “The shift to delivering software as a service is becoming more apparent as organizations across the world are realizing positive impacts to their bottom lines as a result of this new software model.  The experts on this panel live and breathe SaaS and will share their insights and how companies are leveraging this new approach to software delivery.”

SaaS, also known as cloud computing, allows users to access software applications via the Internet (in the cloud), eliminating the need to load, administer and manage software on users’ PCs or on company servers.  SaaS lowers upfront costs and allows anytime/anywhere access to applications and data, reducing requirements on IT resources.  The shift to this new software model is gaining speed rapidly.  Gartner Group predicts the growth of the worldwide SaaS market will go from $6.3 billion in 2006 to $19.3 billion by 2011.

The panelists will discuss issues from the economics and long-term value of SaaS to transition strategies.  They will also address questions such as when should a company use a SaaS solution versus a traditional software license model and how are companies leveraging this new model.
